Ceramics @ Home
Dala Ceramics @ Home is a thermo-setting, water-based paint that is cured in your kitchen oven. This is the ideal product for decorating glazed ceramics, pottery, glass, kitchen and bathroom tiles, tin or even enamel. It forms a hard scratch, heat and chemical resistant film if cured correctly. Painted glazed ceramics will withstand continuous dishwasher cycles (cool to medium heat cycle).
Ceramics @ Home colours are transparent, making them ideal for permanent Glass Glaze work.
For opacity when working on dark surfaces, mix small amounts of Ceramics @ Home Opaque medium to your colours. White can also be used for opacity, mix this with your colour to create opaque pastels. The Ceramics @ Home Pearlescent colour mixed with colours will give you subtle mother of pearl hues.
It is imperative that this product is cured correctly. Cure at 150 degrees for 40 minutes in your conventional oven. Temperatures in excess of 150 degrees will improve the hardness of the coating but may lead to pigment discoloration. Test these higher temperatures on a sample tile.
Note although Ceramics @ Home is a non-toxic product, it is not recommended for direct contact with food. Be sure to paint on the outside of mugs or on the rim of plates.
